👥 Team Leadership & Mentoring

TL;DR: I led cross-functional teams of 5-7 people, running daily standups, retros and team-building rituals that fostered collaboration and trust. I also recruited and mentored a UX designer through bi-weekly 1:1s, helping them grow into their role while aligning the team around shared priorities.
Client: Platypus and Mastercard Open Banking Europe (formerly Aiia)

At Platypus, I coordinated a multidisciplinary team of five — including UX, UI, content, and data professionals. Beyond leading daily stand-ups and retrospectives, I focused on building a supportive, engaged team culture. This included small but consistent practices, like daily icebreaker questions in stand-ups and team-building activities (from casual Fun Fridays to collaborative workshops), which I also introduced at Mastercard Open Banking Europe. These helped foster connection, psychological safety, and better cross-functional collaboration.

I also took on direct mentorship responsibilities, hiring and managing a UX designer whom I supported through regular 1:1s and career guidance — from recruitment through onboarding and day-to-day growth.

To ensure our ways of working aligned with what the team actually valued, I initiated and ran an internal survey that assessed team satisfaction and priorities. Based on the results (which highlighted the importance of social connection and collaboration), I adjusted processes to create more space for teamwork and peer learning.
